A picturesque village with an ancient name. It is situated 35 kms west of Sitia. It maintains its traditional character and the old Byzantine church of Agios Georgios in the centre of the village has been lovingly preserved. Many Minoan antiquities have been discovered in the surrounding area as well as artefacts from the archaic era.
