Paraspori is situated 12 kms from Sitia on the road from Piskokefalo - Achladia at a height of 350m. That this village also has a long history can be proved by the fact that the tomb of the great Kornaros family is found in the courtyard of the village church. One of the greatest uprisings against the Turks occurred here in 1821 when the rebels lay siege to the settlement and forced the Turks to surrender.
