The village of Tourloti is built on a small hill with a panoramic view 28 kms along the north coast road to Agios Nikolaos. The remains of a Minoan settlement were found south of the village on a hill called "Kastri". Valuable artefacts were also discovered in a tomb close to the village dating from the post Minoan period.
